Technology stocks on Bursa Malaysia opened lower Thursday, mirroring losses in US tech stocks a day earlier. The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.6%, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones dropped 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively, as investors remained cautious over the Federal Reserve's next move following an inflation report.
At home, the Bursa Malaysia technology index declined 0.47% or 0.28 points, weighed down by heavyweights:
- Genetech Technology Bhd fell 2.6% to RM1.14 with 218.24 million shares traded, the most active stock.
- Notion VTech Bhd dipped 0.83% to RM1.19 with 180.89 million shares traded.
- Globetronics Technology Bhd dropped 3.4% to 57 sen on 65.81 million shares traded.
- JCY International Bhd slipped 2.5% to 39.5 sen with 53.1 million shares traded.

Among top losers, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd dropped 0.58% to RM23.86.
However, Cuscapi Bhd bucked the trend, rising 5.4% to 19.5 sen with 5.56 million shares traded, signaling isolated gains amid broader market weakness.
Investors remain cautious heading into the Thanksgiving holiday, which will shorten US market hours on Friday.
