Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Ends Lower On Profit-taking

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia closed lower as investors took profits following the recent rebound, with telecommunications and industrial stocks leading the decline, said an analyst.  At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 11.02 points to 1,737.15, compared with Wednesday's close of 1,748.17. The benchmark index opened 1.48 points higher at 1,749.65, its intraday high, and hit a low of 1,733.38 in the afternoon session. On the broader market, decliners led advancers 575 to 567, while 573 counters were unchanged, 1,028 untraded and 13 suspended. Turnover slipped to 3.24 billion units valued at RM2.90 billion from 3.89 billion units valued at RM3.80 billion on Wednesday.  

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Ends Slightly Higher On Late Buying In Selected Heavyweights

 KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia ended marginally higher on Monday supported by late buying in selected large-cap stocks amid improving investor sentiment, despite lingering geopolitical uncertainties, an analyst said. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) edged up 0.83 of a point to 1,725.73 from last Friday’s close of 1,724.90. The benchmark index opened 0.36 of a point higher at 1,725.26, and moved between 1,719.47 and 1,729.72 throughout the day. However, the broader market was negative with losers outpacing gainers 609 to 490, while 573 counters were unchanged, 1,058 untraded and 20 suspended. Turnover shrank to 2.73 billion units valued at RM2.33 billion from 3.10 billion units valued at RM3.57 billion last Friday.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia ended higher on Friday as investors continued to accumulate blue-chip stocks in line with stronger performances across most regional markets. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 4.50 points to 1,724.90 from yesterday’s close of 1,720.40. The benchmark index opened 0.83 of a point higher at 1,721.23, and moved between 1,715.67 and 1,730.12 throughout the day. The broader market was positive with gainers outpacing losers 707 to 402, while 547 counters were unchanged, 1,085 untraded and 56 suspended. Turnover expanded to 3.03 billion units valued at RM3.56 billion from 2.49 billion units valued at RM2.25 billion on Thursday.

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia's Key Index Ends At Intraday High

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia's key index closed at an intraday high today, supported by continued buying interest even as renewed geopolitical tensions and a weaker overnight lead from Wall Street following the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) decision to stand pat on interest rates weighed on broader sentiment. The Fed has decided to hold rates steady for the fifth consecutive meeting, with the Federal Funds Rate unchanged between 3.50 per cent and 3.75 per cent. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 4.84 points to 1,720.40 from yesterday’s close of 1,715.56. The benchmark index, which opened 1.14 points lower at 1,714.42, hit its lowest level of 1,710.69 in early trade before gaining momentum for the rest of the day. However, the broader market was negative with losers outpacing gainers 581 to 411, while 612 counters were unchanged, 1,173 untraded, and 87 suspended.
