Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Ends Week On Softer Note

 KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia finished the week on a softer note, weighed down by profit-taking after the recent rally, in line with cautious sentiment across regional markets, said an analyst.  At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 0.08 per cent, or 1.40 points, to 1,735.75, compared with Thursday’s close of 1,737.15.  The benchmark index opened 1.93 points lower at 1,735.22, and fluctuated between 1,729.34 and 1,739.14 throughout the day. On the broader market, decliners led advancers 581 to 533, while 607 counters were unchanged, 1,052 untraded and 21 suspended. Turnover increased to 3.55 billion units valued at RM3.47 billion from 3.24 billion units valued at RM2.90 billion on Thursday.  

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Ends Slightly Higher On Late Buying In Selected Heavyweights

 KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia ended marginally higher on Monday supported by late buying in selected large-cap stocks amid improving investor sentiment, despite lingering geopolitical uncertainties, an analyst said. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) edged up 0.83 of a point to 1,725.73 from last Friday’s close of 1,724.90. The benchmark index opened 0.36 of a point higher at 1,725.26, and moved between 1,719.47 and 1,729.72 throughout the day. However, the broader market was negative with losers outpacing gainers 609 to 490, while 573 counters were unchanged, 1,058 untraded and 20 suspended. Turnover shrank to 2.73 billion units valued at RM2.33 billion from 3.10 billion units valued at RM3.57 billion last Friday.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia ended higher on Friday as investors continued to accumulate blue-chip stocks in line with stronger performances across most regional markets. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 4.50 points to 1,724.90 from yesterday’s close of 1,720.40. The benchmark index opened 0.83 of a point higher at 1,721.23, and moved between 1,715.67 and 1,730.12 throughout the day. The broader market was positive with gainers outpacing losers 707 to 402, while 547 counters were unchanged, 1,085 untraded and 56 suspended. Turnover expanded to 3.03 billion units valued at RM3.56 billion from 2.49 billion units valued at RM2.25 billion on Thursday.

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia's Key Index Ends At Intraday High

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia's key index closed at an intraday high today, supported by continued buying interest even as renewed geopolitical tensions and a weaker overnight lead from Wall Street following the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) decision to stand pat on interest rates weighed on broader sentiment. The Fed has decided to hold rates steady for the fifth consecutive meeting, with the Federal Funds Rate unchanged between 3.50 per cent and 3.75 per cent. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 4.84 points to 1,720.40 from yesterday’s close of 1,715.56. The benchmark index, which opened 1.14 points lower at 1,714.42, hit its lowest level of 1,710.69 in early trade before gaining momentum for the rest of the day. However, the broader market was negative with losers outpacing gainers 581 to 411, while 612 counters were unchanged, 1,173 untraded, and 87 suspended.
