Market Daily Report: Selective Buying Of Defensive Stocks Lifts Bursa Malaysia Higher At Close

 KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia rebounded to close higher on Wednesday on selective buying of defensive stocks after a volatile trading session. IPPFA Sdn Bhd director of investment strategy and country economist Mohd Sedek Jantan said consumer products and services stocks lifted the key index higher, overcoming lingering geopolitical concerns. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 3.08 points to 1,715.56 from yesterday’s close of 1,712.48. The benchmark index, which opened 1.91 points higher at 1,714.39, moved between 1,710.79 and 1,720.59 during the day’s trading. In the broader market, gainers outstripped decliners 550 to 476, while 612 counters were unchanged, 1,129 untraded, and 48 suspended. Turnover rose to 2.96 billion units valued at RM2.48 billion from 2.94 billion units valued at RM2.56 billion on Tuesday.

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Roars Back, CI Jumps 1.63 Pct On Bargain Hunting, Foreign Funds

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia bounced back from yesterday’s losses to close on a firmer footing today, with the key index gaining 1.63 per cent, buoyed by bargain hunting, renewed foreign fund inflows, and signs of easing trade-related anxieties. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) jumped 24.66 points to 1,540.22 from yesterday’s close of 1,515.56. The market bellwether opened 2.51 points higher at 1,518.07, marking its intraday low, and climbed to its intraday high at closing. On the broader market, market breadth was positive with 454 gainers outpacing 347 decliners, while 475 counters were unchanged, 1,143 untraded, and 96 suspended. Turnover slid to 2.56 billion units valued at RM2.25 billion against yesterday’s 3.04 billion units valued at RM1.81 billion.

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Ends Lower On Profit-Taking

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia closed lower today due to profit- taking following several days of uptrend, amid the mostly upbeat regional market performance.  At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 6.03 points to 1,515.56 from yesterday’s close of 1,521.59. The benchmark index opened 0.61 of-a-point lower at 1,520.98 and climbed to its intraday high of 1,524.50 during the mid-morning session and thereafter trended downwards to hit an intraday low of 1,515.56 at closing.  Market breadth was negative with decliners thumping gainers 506 to 405, while 450 counters were unchanged, 1,079 untraded, and 117 suspended. Turnover improved to 3.04 billion units valued at RM1.81 billion against yesterday’s 2.61 billion units valued at RM1.74 billion.

Market Daily Report: Bursa Malaysia Extends Uptrend For Third Day On Renewed Buying Interest

KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia extended its uptrend for a third consecutive day on Friday, closing higher on renewed buying interest amid positive regional market performance due to potential de-escalating US-China trade tensions. At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 2.68 points, or 0.18 per cent, to 1,509.20 from Thursday’s close of 1,506.52. The benchmark index opened 5.12 points better at 1,511.64, and moved between 1,505.68 and 1,512.29 throughout the day. Market breadth was positive, with advancers beating decliners 651 to 325, while 434 counters were unchanged, 1,047 untraded, and 39 suspended. Turnover improved to 3.10 billion units valued at RM1.95 billion against Thursday’s 3.08 billion units valued at RM2.14 billion.
