Jaguar, owned by Tata Motors' Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), has been transitioning towards an all-electric future, initially set in 2021 following the UK’s pledge to phase out petrol and diesel cars by 2030. However, meeting the UK’s zero-emission target remains a challenge. Currently, only 18% of new cars registered are electric.
Production of Jaguar’s XE, XF, and F-Type cars has ended, and the E-Pace and I-Pace SUVs will no longer be available in the UK after December. This marks the first time since WWII that Brits won’t have access to new Jaguars.
JLR’s CEO Adrian Mardell stated the brand will take its time to create high-quality electric models, with a preview planned at Miami Art Week in December. Jaguar’s luxury EVs are set to debut in summer 2026.
